Established in the mid 1800’s in Kendal, Gawith Hoggarth have been providing pipe tobacco for 3 generations. Using the finest high quality and raw materials available, from day one Gawith Hoggarth have used the same traditional methods when producing their world famous tobacco, and in some instances, they still use the original machinery from the factories early years. The aroma of this tobacco is of course sweet, with the caramel coming forward. You can smell the coffee which is freshly ground, not instant. The Cavendish is almost all black, with a hint of dark brown here and there and is moist without being too wet. Once packed into the bowl it lights well and smokes cool, burning to a fine grey ash. I received my sample today and have been surprised .it was my first time in my pipe smoking lifetime to try aromatic tobacco, and I really liked it. Slow burning and rich coffee and caramel test I packed full bowl and smoked it around 45 minutes this evening whiches was great experience to me . For sure, I’ll put it on my regular list .
