The Ashton Pipe brand was created on 1983 by pipe maker Bill Ashton-Taylor and the renowned pipe aficionado R D Field. The following year Robert Levin, following discussion with R D Field, named his new cigars Ashton based on the excellent reputation built by Ashton pipes. Upon opening the fresh tin of the Ashton winding road pipe tobacco, the aroma has a unique scent that smells like apricot and citrus. Although the tobacco is relatively moist, I would advise to allow drying time and for the tobacco to be smoked easily and preventing any tongue-bite issues. overall a very mellow and pleasant smoke.
